In mid July 15 of us again ventured to the Yucatan Peninsula to show our Mayan brothers and sisters that God will call resources from far and wide to do His work. We worked on putting a roof on a fellowship hall next to the main body of the church. During the 3 days we spent in the village and after the work day was over, we conducted a bible study for 100-150 kids, fitted and gave away about 140 pair of reading glasses and got to know the people of Cumpich a little.

Mayan is the social language of these beautiful people and the Mayan influence is quite prevalent in their appearance. Spanish is their second language and all can speak it fluently. They speak Spanish to gringo's (us) and others that can't understand Mayan. Mayan is a tonal based language that sounds close to many American Indian languages.
