Adult Discipleship News

GET INVOLVED

One of the great strengths of a church lies in its seniors. The foundation for any adult discipleship program is its senior members, those who have walked with God for years. They have a reservoir of wisdom and a fortress of faith not seen in other church groups. Their bodies may be wearing a little, but they are strong because God is their strength.

Our Bible studies need seniors. Our committees need seniors. Our Sunday school classes need seniors. They are a valuable resource, teaching church groups through your life experiences and sharing wisdom and knowledge. You, seniors, are a treasure to Fairfield.

I read somewhere that there is enough time in each day to gracefully do everything God wants us to do. Ask God to help glorify Him:

  • Join a church committee
  • Volunteer at Freedom House
  • Go on a mission trip
  • Sing in the choir
  • Write letters to prisoners
  • Deliver angel tree presents
  • Participate in a Bible Study
  • Spend time in intercessory prayer for the needs of our church, our community and the world!

Douglas Macarthur once said, “You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubts, as young as your self with confidence, as old as your fears, as young as your hope, as old as your despair.”

Philippians 4:13

“For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need.“ (NLT)

Colossians 3:16

“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
