ministry gives Fairfield an opportunity to share Christ’s love by
helping to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the
families of prisoners. It
is a way to care for some of the most overlooked members of our
culture. The Fairfield
community receives names and ages of children and gets the pleasure
of shopping for gifts for these kids at Christmas.
When delivering the gifts we get to meet the families and

Around Richmond Involved
To Assure Shelter
This
program provides emergency shelter for homeless adults.
Fairfield contributes monetarily and also hosts a group once
a year. As hosts, the
Fairfield community provides breakfast, a bag lunch and dinner;
laundry help; shower facilities; overnight accommodations and
fellowship to individuals who are brought to our church for a week.
MCEF Mechanicsville
Churches Emergency Functions This
is a ministry of Mechanicsville churches working together to help
meet the needs in our own community.
Monetary contributions provide emergency assistance when all
other sources of support have been exhausted to help a family avoid
eviction or utility cut-off. A
food pantry and clothing closets are also provided through different
locations in Mechanicsville churches.
Fairfield provides non-perishable food and personal items to
the food pantry on a monthly basis. RICHMOND
FRIENDS OF THE HOMELESS Through
this ministry, Fairfield provides, prepares and serves lunch monthly
at Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Richmond.
This ministry enriches the community life of low income and
homes families in the Richmond area. UPWARD Upward
is a fun, reliable, passionate and encouraging sports experience for
boys and girls, in K5 through sixth grade. Upward provides first
class, organized and detailed sports programming in basketball,
soccer, flag football and cheerleading. Unique aspects of Upward
include an evaluation system that promotes equal and competitive
teams as well as a substitution system which allows for equal
playing time for all participants.
Through Upward, children are exposed to quality coaching and
sport development. Upward emphasizes character and integrity instead
of a “win at all costs” mentality associated with today’s
sports world. Fairfield
hosts Upward Basketball and provides coaches, concessions devotions
and community to area churches through this program.
