Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for
the glory of God. ROMANS 15:7
Jesus welcomes all kinds of people, esp. children. Welcoming people
means helping them to feel that they belong. Think about how you
like to be welcomed when you are in a new place, class or activity.
Sometimes, we don't want to welcome someone. Maybe that person
doesn't dress like us or act like us. Maybe we don't want to leave
our old friends to sit with someone new. Maybe we feel shy and don't
know what to say. If you don't know what to do, you can do either
one of two things: Say a silent prayer for courage, take a deep
breath and say "Hi" or welcome the person the way you would like to
be welcomed. Not everyone you welcome will be your friend. But you
will have shown God's love anyway.
